Breakfast

Sunday June 30

At 9am Sheila took myself and Maryanne (her friend visiting from Finland) to the Paseo Del Sol. It is on the north side of the Laguna Manialtepec, about 15 km west from Puerto Escondido. Like many local restaurants it is run by a family, who happen to be good friends of Sheila as well. Thus there was a lot of hanging out and catching each other up on events. We were one of only two parties sitting by the water’s edge enjoying our Sunday breakfast, to wit: a very large fresh orange/papaya juice, ham and eggs, sopas, tortillas, guacamole, various extras, coffee. 3 people, $24.70, including the tip.

Afterward Sheila took us to the little town of Chila to show us an interesting bridge over the river, and then to the Bacocho beach area at the west end of Puerto, where Maryanne and I walked on the sand for a bit, exploring.
